About Qantas Airways
Qantas was founded in 1920 in outback Queensland as the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services, and ranks among the oldest airlines in the world still operating. It pioneered the Kangaroo Route linking Australia with London, absorbed Australian Airlines in 1992, and was privatised in the 1990s.
The Flying Kangaroo operates A380s, 787-9s and A330s alongside a large domestic 737 fleet from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Its Perth to London 787 service opened the first regular nonstop link between Australia and Europe, and Project Sunrise A350-1000s are intended to fly Sydney to London and New York nonstop.
