About LATAM Airlines Brasil
LATAM Airlines Brasil traces its roots to 1961 and the Taxi Aereo Marilia air taxi firm, which grew into TAM Linhas Aereas, for years Brazil's largest airline. In 2012 TAM merged with Chile's LAN to create the LATAM Airlines Group, and the Brazilian unit adopted the LATAM brand in 2016.
The carrier is the largest domestic airline in Brazil, with major hubs at Sao Paulo Guarulhos and Brasilia. Its fleet mixes Airbus A320 family jets on dense domestic trunk routes with Boeing 777s and 787s on long-haul services to North America and Europe, offering sim pilots everything from shuttle hops to twelve-hour sectors.
