About Southern Airways Express
Southern Airways Express began flying in 2013 from Memphis and grew quickly through Essential Air Service awards. It acquired Mokulele Airlines in 2019, keeping the Mokulele brand for its Hawaiian operations, and became part of Surf Air Mobility in 2023. The airline is now the largest commuter operator in the United States measured by departures.
The mainland network links Pittsburgh, Washington Dulles, Memphis, Dallas/Fort Worth, St. Louis, Phoenix and Los Angeles with small communities such as DuBois, Bradford, Hot Springs, Harrison, Jonesboro and El Centro. Hawaiian routes connect Honolulu, Kahului and Kona with Molokai, Lanai, Hana and Kalaupapa. The fleet is standardised on the Cessna 208 Caravan.
